Description

The University wishes to appoint a Contractor or Contractors to provide fire fighting equipment testing and maintenance services throughout the University campus. The Contract will include the testing of portable fire extinguishers, fixed hydraulic hose reels, dry and wet rising fire mains and private fire hydrants. The Contractor will be expected to provide all the equipment necessary to undertake the annual tests as specified in the relevant British/European Standard and carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs to this equipment where appropriate and in the case of extinguishers and hose reels, provide replacement items where necessary. More complex repairs needed to fixed installations such as valve replacements, pipe work modifications and excavations will be carried out by others.The University anticipates that it will appoint one Contractor to undertake the whole range of work specified above but applications for one or more parts of the Contract may be considered..
