Information campaign on mental health on behalf of INAMI
This contract concerns an information campaign on mental health care. It is estimated that at least one in four Belgians will face mental problems at some point in their lives. When it happens, it is not always easy to talk about it, let alone to quickly find the care you need. One reason for this is that people face practical and financial obstacles. But the biggest barrier is neither practical nor financial: many people do not go out because of stigma, lack of awareness of (symptoms of) mental problems or the perception of psychological care as a “big step” to be taken. Young people (up to the age of 23) and older people (from the age of 65) mostly do not find the way to the psychologist or the contracted orthopaedagogue. The objective of this campaign is threefold: — Breaking the taboo of mental health problems in the population; — Inform about the accessible provision of psychological care; — Guide people who do not find the psychological care they need/do not dare to go (from a system of ‘meeting places’).
