Description

Beaumont Hospital intends to enter into a rental agreement for Pro Care Optima prone mattresses supplied by O'Flynn Medical. For clinical reasons, and in order to ensure optimum treatment outcomes on behalf of its patient cohort, Beaumont Hospital requires these Prone Mattresses for use in the ICU. These Mattresses automate and optimise prone shoulder lifting and full-body pressure relief, significantly reducing caregiver workload and injury risk. Its mechanical shoulder lifting supports single-caregiver head turning, and customizable individual air cell firmness combined with proprietary pressure relieving headrest ensures full-body pressure injury prevention. Beaumont Hospital is satisfied that only the Pro-Care Optima Prone Mattress, supplied by O'Flynn Medical, is capable of fulfilling these requirements. Consequently, in accordance with Article 32(2)(b)(ii) of Directive 2014/24/EU, competition is absent for technical reasons and the award of this contract to O' Flynn Medical without a competitive process is permitted by the procurement regulations. Beaumont Hospital undertake that no contract shall be awarded to O'Flynn Medical for the supply of these items until a period of fourteen days has elapsed, commencing on the day after the date of publication of this notice at European level.
