- General description: Under the direction of the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR – Unit BB I 5), the Luisenblock Ost I (LBO I for short) east of the Marie Elisabeth Lüders House is to create new office space for the German Bundestag and other federal-day-specific facilities such as meeting rooms. With the LBO I project, an ecological and sustainable model project will be created, with which the German Bundestag wants to make a significant contribution to compliance with the energy efficiency and climate neutrality targets in Germany. For the architectural competition conducted for this purpose, the jury met in February 2024, with the three prize winners now the negotiated procedure for property planning is carried out. Demand planning The user demand planning includes the following main areas of use: • Up to 565 office units, of which approximately 260 are Members' offices and 80 are for parliamentary committees, • 4 committee meeting rooms and 1 meeting room with wiretapping, • Catering facilities, • Magazine and archive areas, • Delivery of goods with post x-ray control and distribution centre, • Data centre with Blue Angel certification • Canteen • Areas for the Bundestag police • Approx. 170 parking spaces for cars and 20 for vans The total space requirement amounts to approximately 33,600 m2 NF. Costs and areas The cost calculation prepared for ES-Bau takes into account the demand planning prepared by BTV (Bundestagsverwaltung), supplemented together with the building administration, and the area potential proven in the 2022 feasibility study with a gross floor area (GFA) of around 66,600 m2 of which around 43,400 m2 above ground and around 23,200 m2 below ground. The determined construction costs, KG 200-600 amount to 415,331,940.00 €.
