The need to carry out this service contract arises from the execution of the works of the project ‘MODERNIZATION OF THE CHANNEL OF THE COMMUNITIES OF REGANTES OF CASTELLÓN AND ALMASSORA. T.M. DE ALMASSORA (CASTELLÓN)”. The ‘Sequia comuna’, which conducts the waters of the Mijares River for use by the Communities of Irrigators of Castellón and Almassora, is a very old canal, excavated in a mine with traditional techniques, without covering hastials and vaults, and which is currently in a considerable state of deterioration, with areas in which there have been collapses of the vault and other detachments at several points in the path of the canal that hinder the flow of water. The Irrigation Communities of Castellón and Almassora have expressed to the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation on several occasions the deterioration of this channel, due to landslides that hinder the passage of irrigation water, the safety problems that it supposes and the affect to the efficiency in the management of the flows. DE ALMASSORA (CASTELLÓN)” with code FP.212.200/2111, and for the control and monitoring of the execution of these works and their coordination of Safety and Health, it is necessary to contract this service. The execution of the works covered by the service contract requires the provision of technical and personnel resources that this Hydrographic Confederation currently lacks, since the scarce resources available to the Technical Directorate, and especially Area I, are dedicated to other priority needs, so that they could not be dedicated to these functions without detriment to those entrusted to this Area.
