Germany-Berlin: Architectural services for buildings
Restricted implementation competition for consortia of architects and landscape architects.
The competition is based on the Guidelines for Planning Competitions (RPW 2013) and the Guide on the organisation of competitions pursuant to IV 150 of the General instruction for the preparation and execution of building tasks in Berlin (Instruction on Construction – Abau).
The subject of the competition is the extension and partial conversion of the existing school building and a new sports hall building for the current project. Two-stage State European School of Lew-Tolstoi-Grundschule, including the design of the outdoor sports facilities and the restaurant area in the Römerweg 120, 10318 Berlin Lichtenberg, district of Karlshorst.
The existing school building SK 68 Berlin is a serial construction type from the GDR time. In addition, there is a 1-field hall on the plot. Both structures were constructed in 1968 on the school plot of approximately 18 000 m².
The Lew Tolstoi primary school is to be extended to four trains. Therefore, additional classrooms and a mensa in an extension building and a doubtful sports hall on the school site will be planned.
The aim of the competition is to preserve an ambitious design for school expansion and the construction of new sports halls, which fits into the existing urban planning structure. The planning is also intended to upgrade the site, including outdoor space, functionally, restructure and design the existing buildings and give a new quality to the school site.
The room programme includes a total useful area of approximately 1 950 m² for school expansion and the school is to be extended from 2 to 4 trains. The new construction of the double hall has a total useful area of approximately 1 250 m².
Outdoor sports areas and outdoors must also be redesigned in the context of the competition and adapted to future needs.
Total construction costs under DIN 276 of a maximum of approximately EUR 10500000 (gross) are foreseen for the construction measures. It is planned to carry out the construction work in at least two phases from 2017 onwards.
The competitors are expected to have an urban and architecturally demanding design from the point of view of energy-optimised construction in the sense of an innovative energy- and cost-efficient building concept under then applicable EnEV.
It is intended to entrust performance phases 2 to 9 in accordance with HOAI (2013) § 34 and § 39. The assignment shall be carried out in stages. The next stage can only be entrusted if the budgetary conditions laid down in Part III, point 130 are met. There is no legal right to commission these services.
