Description

The University of Birmingham has a requirement for provision of drinking water for its offices, sports centre and other areas.
The purpose of this competitive tender is to establish a contract with a suitably qualified Supplier for a period of 3 years, renewable annually thereafter up to a maximum of 10 years to provide reliable and punctual, high quality services. Current spend on this commodity is approximately 94 000 GBP per year. About 2/3 of the coolers are bottle fed and 1/3 mains fed. It is anticipated that there may be a trend towards less bottled coolers and more mains fed over the term of the contract as the focus on environmental issues increases, however, the system of devolved budgeting (and in some areas lack of nearby water supplies) means that many areas will continue to use bottled coolers.
The University operates devolved budgeting so separate accounts must be set up as required.
