Description

Die Bundesländer Saarland und Rheinland-Pfalz führen die Reaktivierung der Strecke Homburg – Einöd (– Zweibrücken) und deren Einbeziehung in die S-Bahn-Rhein-Neckar als Verlängerung der bestehenden Linie S 1 durch. Der Abschnitt Homburg – Einöd ist seit 1996 stillgelegt und wird reaktiviert. Der Abschnitt Einöd – Zweibrücken ist Teil der Strecke 3450 Rohrbach – Zweibrücken -Pirmasens Nord und wird im Zusammenhang mit der Reaktivierung des Abschnitts Homburg – Einöd elektrifiziert.
