Description

ERESS is a system for measuring, settlement and invoicing of energy consumption for electrical locomotives and trains. This system is owned by 4 partners. These are Jernbaneverket in Norway, Trafikverket in Sweden, Danedanmark in Denmark and Infrabel in Belgium.
One of the major advantages of the system is that it can cope with energy settlement for trains which cross national boundaries. Advanced energy meters are used for measuring and invoicing of energy consumption, which measure the amount of energy used, regeneration of energy and GPS positions at 5 minute intervals. The data is transferred from the energy meter in the train to a data collection server.
Jernbaneverket Bane Energi is responsible for operation and Development of the energy settlement system and will be the awarding authority for this contract.
We would like to verify the measurement uncertainty connected to the components used in the energy meter circuit in the electrical train and locomotive. The main components in the meter circuit are the energy meter, current transducer and voltage transformer. The uncertainty is originally calculated on the basis of the accuracy classes for each of the components. The measured value result from this system is used for invoicing electricity consumption for trains. It is important that the measurement accuracy is good. We would now like to qualify relevant service providers for the competition.
