El CIEMAT, precisa tener acceso a determinadas publicaciones de alto nivel y especialización que posibilitan el estar al corriente de los avances científicos, publicaciones que dado su alto nivel de especialización, están disponibles en un ámbito muy reducido y en muchos casos, solamente accesibles a través de plataformas y servicios on-line, facilitados por determinadas editoriales como ELSEVIER BV, que dispone de una serie de publicaciones científicas necesarias para las investigaciones que desarrolla el Organismo a las que solamente se puede acceder a través de la plataforma de esta editorial, ScienceDirect, según consta en el certificado de exclusividad emitido al efecto
