Poland-Chorzów: Tramway works

The subject-matter of the contract in part financed by Tramwaje Śląskie S.A. is the execution of construction works for the following tasks:
“Reconstruction of the Rynek – Freedom in Chorzów tram loop” (task 60)
as part of the implementation of the project entitled: ‘Modernisation of tram and trolleybus infrastructure in the Upper Silesian agglomeration and accompanying infrastructure – Stage II’, foreseen for co-financing by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment.
The subject-matter of the contract for part financed by the City Council of Ulics and Mostów in Chorzów is the execution of works for the following tasks:
‘Construction of a bus and tram transfer centre in the area of ul. Katowicka and Rynek with a section from ul. Szabatowski, ul. Chopina in Chorzów – Stage I – reconstruction of devices which interfere with the investment and construction of light signals and lighting.’
The contracting authority did not divide the contract into lots and does not allow the submission of partial tenders.
The construction works will be carried out on the basis of design documentation drawn up by:
Substance PROJEKT, ul. Karola measures 18, 43-190 Mikol
which forms an integral part of the ToR, in accordance with the principles of construction art and contemporary technical knowledge, applying the applicable rules, standards and technical specifications for the execution and acceptance of works. If there is a suspicion that the area covered by the project is carrying out weapons which are not included in the situation plans, these sites must also be checked by means of inspection excavations.
The contracting authority informs that, during the implementation of the contract, it will use:
in the part financed by Tramwaje Śląskie S.A., an entity called the Contract Engineer with the powers specified in Chapter 3 of the Construction Law for ‘Projectant’, ‘Investor Supervision Inspector’ and ‘Investor Supervision Officer’, and in a separate contract to which it will entrust the performance, in his name and on his behalf, of the obligations reserved by the construction works contract and the contract concluded between the contracting authority and the Contract Engineer.
In the part financed by the City Council of Streets and Mosts, the supervision inspectors designated by the Municipal Administration of Streets and Mosts or the entity called the Contract Engineer selected in a procurement procedure, which is currently in the process of being tendered.
