Description

Turku Tradetori is the operational centre of the centre. There is a lot of traditional market trade on the market and its emotional value is significant for urban people. The streets surrounding the market are particularly important as key routes for public transport and the stops at the hinterlands serve as important hubs for local and regional transport.
Design solutions for the commercial and nearby streets must be of high quality in all aspects: beautiful, sustainable, ecological and smart. The planning area is the busiest pedestrian area of the city, and the high level of planning, material selection and implementation of the area will represent a decisive improvement in the appearance of the Turku core centre, the environmental quality level and the attractiveness of Turku as a whole.
In the past, street plans have been drawn up for the shop and the surrounding streets on the basis of which construction plans are drawn up. An exception is made between Yopistonkatu Aurakatu – Commercialskatu, for which a building plan has already been drawn up.
