Description

In the area of the urban conversion area ‘New City Quartier Friedrich Heinrich’, the AG is planning a new family-cultural and educational centre (a total useful area of approximately 2 900 m², vrsl. Construction costs KG 300+ 400 approx. EUR 4.6 million gross, construction completion March 2020). This is to be built on the premises of the desk-protected Schirrhof in the south of the former West mine. To this end, the Schirrhof and the pump house are to be renovated, modernised and converted to meet the usage requirements. The following uses are planned: 5-gruppige Kita, artist studios, paintshops, social institutions offices, other multifunctional rooms for associations, Centre for Mining Tradition, Open Exhibition, Information Centre in Pumpenhaus. The adjacent teaching statue with outdoor areas is intended to explain the working world of the Bergmann. The project will be based on an architecture design which is not yet complete.
