The Rheinfelden – Frick motorway section was launched in 1974. The road is classified in the national road 1st class and today has a DTV of approximately 45000 to 50000 vehicles per day. Between the Rheinfelden and Frick connections, the road is continuously four-lane and the mullion area is supplemented by a creep lane in sections in the direction of Basel. There is also a rest area in addition to the Rheinfelden, Eiken and Frick connections. There are several structures of art, support structures and noise barriers on the section.
