Description

The Technical University of Dortmund intends to equip TV studio, teaching and working rooms in the Unicenter on Vogelpothsweg for the Institute of Journalism of Faculty 15 - Cultural Studies. All functional areas of the practical training of the students are to be centralized at one location. The premises will be transformed into a multifunctional centre for the students of the Institute of Journalism, the third-party funding project NRWision and the training of the media designers of the TU-Dortmund. Upstairs, a TV studio with adjoining rooms is set up, which can be used for journa-listic training as well as for seminars and events. Students can develop and implement their own television formats here. The third-party funding project NRWision, a TV learning channel and citizen media platform, will use the TV studio for its own productions. The premises of NRWision are also located on the upper floor of the Uni-Center. The training rooms for the media designers "Bild und Ton", which were previously housed at a different location, will be set up on the ground floor of the Uni-Center, in funkti-onaler proximity to the TV studio. For the KURT teaching department, a format laboratory is set up in which students can develop and test innovative editorial offers. This room also serves as a meeting room and interface between the Institute of Journalism and the campus public and is therefore also set up on the ground floor. The aim is to develop an innovative overall concept for the open spaces on the ground floor and upper floor of the Uni-Center, which integrates the various functional areas of the Institute for Journalism and supports cross-media education.
