Description

Public service broadcasters are absolutely dependent on an efficient and functioning IT infrastructure in order to fulfil their tasks. This also includes industry standard servers in 19" format, which are mainly used in the data centres of the individual broadcasters but also for other tasks. The client and the beneficiaries must use these server systems both for new tasks in the context of projects of individual departments, as well as for renewal in the context of existing tasks. The strategy is to provide a unified machine platform with powerful and scalable server systems for the Microsoft Windows, VMware ESXi and SUSE Linux Enterprise platforms. With this standard platform, more than 95% of all tasks can be solved today. This procedure considerably simplifies administration, ensuring regular operation and maintenance of the machines to be supervised. The server systems are integrated into various management environments by the client and the beneficiary. Specifically, these are: • Fully automatic software distribution with initial start over the network. • Central evaluation of all hardware-related system messages. • Central terminal access via an existing KVM system. • Remote initiation of a restart via a separately accessible OS-independent IP interface. Under the auspices of Südwestrundfunk (SWR), this EU-wide procurement procedure intends to conclude a framework agreement with a contractor for the supply and maintenance of standard industrial servers in 19" format. In addition to SWR as a party to this framework agreement, the following public service broadcasters as well as their subsidiaries and associated companies, provided that the participation of the public service broadcasters is at least 50%, are involved in this framework agreement as beneficiaries: • ARD ZDF Deutschlandradio Beitragsservice • Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) • Deutsche Welle (DW) • Deutschlandradio (DR) • ARD Sternpunkt, represented by Hessischer Rundfunk • Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) • Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) • Radio Bremen (RB) • ARD - Hauptstadtstudio, represented by Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg • Informationsverarbeitungszentrum (IVZ), represented by Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg • Saarländischer Rundfunk (SR) • Südwestrundfunk (SWR) • Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) Community institutions (GSEA), for which the respective beneficiary has the lead. The content of the contract contained in this framework agreement shall apply equally to all beneficiaries. The framework agreement is to be concluded for an initial period of 24 months and two extension options of 12 months each. The renewal options shall be exercised by the Contracting Authority and shall also apply to all persons eligible under this Framework Agreement. The framework agreement starts on 21.02.2025. The main services to be covered by this procurement procedure are: •Conclusion of a framework agreement for the supply of standard industrial servers (x86) of different heights from one manufacturer, including a manufacturer's warranty of 60 months and on-site service on the next working day. Optional services are: •Additional equipment variants of the standard industrial servers •Extension of the manufacturer's warranty from 60 to 72 or 84 months •Manufacturer's warranty from 60, 72 and 84 months including on-site service with shortened response and recovery time.
