Energy Centre of the University of Bremen: Reconstruction/renewal of the refrigeration system - technical equipment, property planning Buildings
The energy centre of the University of Bremen provides a central supply of cold water. The University of Bremen intends to renew the refrigeration system. In the course of this measure, both the roof of the energy centre must be renovated. For this purpose, various variants with regard to their sustainability and cost-effectiveness are to be examined. Possible subsidies must be shown according to the variants. The refrigerant regulation must be observed in order to comply with the increasing requirements in the future. It should be noted that the old absorption chillers are operated at a high temperature level, flow temperature 125-130°C, return temperature 100°C. The energy supplier (SWB) strives for temperatures of flow 120°C / return 50°C. In addition, a constant cooling supply is essential to maintain working capacity, especially in the laboratories. The cold water network must continue to be operated with a flow of 6°C and a return flow of 15°C at 7 bar. In accordance with the requirements, economical and environmentally friendly refrigeration with redundancy and thus low risk of failure will also be required in the future. It is necessary to develop a concept in order to be able to cover base and peak loads sensibly. The refurbishment of the cooling supply must be carried out during operation. After an initial cost assumption, the construction costs (KG 300 + 400) amount to: - KG 400: approx. EUR 13.6 million net (ALG 3: approx. EUR 13.2 million; ALG 4: approx. EUR 0.1 million, ALG 8: approx. EUR 0.3 million); - KG 300: approx. EUR 1.1 million net.
