Planning services (object and structural design) for six bridge structures using the BIM method in the Elbinselquartier in Hamburg
As an urban project developer, IBA Hamburg GmbH was commissioned by the authority for urban development and housing with the development of an attractive, dense residential area for all population groups, in accordance with the document 2014/02753 "Further development of five areas on the Elbe islands by IBA Hamburg GmbH". The basis for the development of the central Wilhelmsburg projects Elbinselquartier and Wilhelmsburg Rathausviertel is the relocation of the Wilhelmsburg Reichsstraße, which currently cuts through the areas in a north-south direction. At the end of 2019, the new line was put into operation along the railway line running east of the areas. On a total area of about 80 hectares in the two project areas, new quarters for living and working can be developed by IBA Hamburg GmbH. On urban areas, about 3,900 apartments, new commercial areas, day care centres, a primary and district school as well as a landscape axis with allotments, sports, leisure and recreation facilities are being built here. The rapid cycle path connection with parallel pedestrian path offers the special experience of walking along the landscape axis or cycling along it. In order to create a symbiotic connection between urban mobility and natural spatial design and to ensure the development of the Elbinselquartier, IBA Hamburg GmbH plans the construction of several bridges over the canals and weathers running in the area. The subject of these plans (object and structural design) are 6 bridge structures (B3, B4, B9, B11, B15 and B16) which fulfil different functions: - B3, B4 and B9: Pedestrian bridges that ensure internal access and create barrier-free and attractive paths for residents and visitors. - B15 and B16: Road bridges that take up motorised traffic and play an essential role in the development of traffic in the area. - B11: A canal bridge that allows the crossing of the Aßmann Canal, serves for external access and is designed for both pedestrian and bicycle traffic. The basis for the planning is the present preliminary planning from the year 2020 and the current state of the design guideline Brücken WHB. The planning of the bridge structures is to be carried out using the BIM method (Building Information Modeling). The estimated eligible total construction costs are approximately 3,213,000 euros net.
