UK-Liverpool: installation services of equipment for measuring, checking, testing and navigating
Merseytravel operates the two road tunnels on Merseyside. Many of the operations are controlled through a SCADA control system including the monitoring of CO and visibility levels which provides an indication of air quality in this area. Merseytravel are looking to replace the current air monitoring equipment with equipment which is also capable of monitoring NOx. The equipment would need to provide an input to the SCADA system which can be monitored by Merseytravel staff and is used to control ventilation in the tunnels. There are currently six monitoring units in the Kingsway tunnel and eight monitoring units in the Queensway tunnel. Merseytravel are looking for an organisation to supply install and commission the replacement equipment and provide a suitable interface for the current SCADA system. This organisation should also provide training for Merseytravel maintenance staff. In the first year the system will be supported by the supplier under warranty. In subsequent years Merseytravel staff will provide first line support and planned maintenance with the supplier providing second line support for a five year period.
