The Instrument has to:
— be based on a dry superconducting magnet system i.e. a system that is cooled without the use of liquid helium;
— be able to provide adjustable sample fields of up to 5 Tesla (or more) and sample temperatures (within+/- 1 Kelvin) from room temperature Down to 5 Kelvin;
— be essentially free of vibrations to the sample (the line-broadening from the magnetic system, including the cooling, has to be less than 0,02 mm/second);
— have a design that matches the design of existing Mössbauer spectroscopy equipment at DTU.
