Description

The purpose of the study is to carry out the study of the General Urban Plan for the Municipality of Malevizio, the Regional Unit of Heraklion, the Region of Crete. The proposed study refers to the entire municipality, which has a real population of 21 131 inhabitants and an area of 291.907 hectares according to the NSSG census in 2001.
On the basis of Law 3852/2010 (Government Gazette, Series I, No 87/Α/07-06-10), new municipalities were set up on the basis of the Kallikratis programme. On the basis of this Law, the newly created municipality of Malvizio was the result of the grouping of the ‘Kapodistrian’ municipalities of Gazio, Krousonas and Tylisos, which were abolished. At the same time, the former Municipality of Krousonas has been approved by Decision No αρ.752/04-03-10 of the Secretary-General of the Region of Crete (Government Gazette, Series II, No 120/ΑΑΠ/9.4.2010), while for the former Municipality of Tylisos the SFOAP for which the procedure for its pension was initiated was initiated in accordance with Decision No 5050/18-08-10 of the Secretary-General of the Region of Crete (Government Gazette, Series II, No 396/ΑΑΠ/28-09-10). For this reason, the General Council of the Municipality of Maleizio will focus on the town and country planning organisation of the former municipality of Gazio and on aligning it with the two former municipalities of Krousona and Tylisos, approved and currently under preparation. In order to link this study with the study being drawn up in the former Municipality of Tylisos, cooperation between the contractors of the two projects is required.
Account must also be taken of the approved GPS of the Heraklion agglomeration, as amended (Government Gazette, Series II, No 696/Δ/8.7.2003), which includes areas (town planning units) that belong administratively to the newly created municipality of Malevizio, with an area of approximately 8 500 hectares.
