Description

The town of Kirchheim unter Teck plans to build a new building to expand the Freihof primary school in Kirchheim unter Teck. The extension building is needed, as from 2026 the entitlement to full-day care can no longer be covered with the existing room capacities of the primary school. Based on a demand forecast from the first quarter of 2023, it can be seen that a very significant increase in the number of primary school pupils is to be expected in the next three to four years. In addition, room capacities are needed for two additional primary school classes, which have been taught in containers on an adjoining leased plot for about 10 years. The lease will expire there at the beginning of 2026. As part of a revised feasibility study of 23 July 2024, it was determined that the demand coverage could be realized by an additional building between two privately owned houses, separate from the previous land charge building. The urban and technical situation is considered to be very complex due to the location of the building site and requires appropriate expertise with regard to the design. It is expected that after four to five years the number of pupils and the associated all-day care entitlement will fall again, which is why it is crucial for the city of Kirchheim that the use of the building can be made highly flexible. Against this background, there is openness to a (modular) construction method (wooden construction, wood hybrid construction, timber modular construction or timber stand construction).
