Description

AS-410 Auto Slide Preparation System is a system for automatic cutting of paraffin blocks. The system is built with an input unit (96-block feeding unit), where the blocks are loaded, a Main unit, where the blocks are trimmed/cut and cut on glass, and a Drying unit, where the glasses with cuts are stored before they are unloaded. Knife change is done by Quality Assement unit-Blade Mark check, which detects if there are knife marks in the cut. The system has a built-in slide printer that receives information from the pathology system through the LK-400 Expansion pack for LIS and pairs the slide with the associated block using Sample Management. The system observes the surface temperature of the block through the Block Surface Temperature Detection Function, so that no cuts are made if the block has a temperature above the optimum.
