Description

The State Hospital (Institute of Public Law, hereinafter also AöR) is the largest hospital carrier in the psychiatric-psychotherapeutic and neurological field in Rhineland-Palatinate. The sponsoring organization includes a total of seven large locations and other smaller hospitals. Over the last few years, the LKH has been constantly in the state of the art in terms of technology. IT and cybersecurity (e.g. § 8a IT Security Act) and invested in the IT infrastructure to enable employees to work digitally for the benefit of the patients to be cared for. The introduction of a Security Operation Center (SOC) is an important component for reducing cyber risks and ensuring the operational security of the client's IT systems. The use of an SOC is intended, among other things, to determine more precisely which activities happen in the network, which events occur and which resources are accessed. In order to perform this task, the SOC integrates, monitors and analyzes all security-relevant systems such as corporate networks, servers, workstations or Internet services. Among other things, the log files of the individual systems are collected, analyzed and examined for abnormalities. In addition to the pure analysis of the various systems and log files, alerting and taking very timely measures to protect data and applications are central tasks of the Security Information Center - 24 hours a day.
