The Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company NITHC is a public corporation established under the Transport Act NI 1967 to oversee the provision of public transport in Northern Ireland. It is responsible for the operation of its subsidiary companies, Citybus now Metro, NI Railways and Ulsterbus, which deliver passenger transport services. Translink is the brand name of the 3 operating companies, which operate integrated, scheduled bus and rail services in Northern Ireland, including cross-border and cross-channel links under a Public Service Obligation. Translink is 1 of Northern Ireland's largest employers, with over 3 500 employees, 80 million passengers per annum and an annual turnover of 125 m. Translink wishes to secure the services of Specialist Solar Voltaic Installers with the necessary resources and experience to fully design, supply, install, test and commission 3 No. PV panel arrays to provide an approximate and maximum output of 50 kWp for each of the 3 sites. The contractor shall fully design, supply, install, test and commission the complete Solar Photovoltaic PV panel system at each of the 3 sites, Falls Road Depot, Short Strand Depot and York Road Workshops in line with the requirements of this specification, manufacturer's guidelines and recommendations and all relevant industry codes and standards and good practice guidelines. The contractor will provide, install, test, commission, demonstrate and generally set to work the photovoltaic PV electricity generating plant as described below and associated with this project. The Solar Photovoltaic PV panel system described within this section shall be on a performance basis and the works shall be carried out under the Contract Design Portion of the project. The proposed solar array system shall be designed and installed to uniformly distribute the load of the panels on the roof. All specifications and package drawings are performance based only, intended to describe the intent and scope of works. This means that the contractor is responsible for completing the design, pricing for it in its totality and delivering a wholly working system upon completion. The contractor is to include support required in order for the client to claim the NIROCs and to sell electricity to grid.
