With the adoption of the law on the provision of nationwide fast-charging infrastructure for pure battery electric vehicles (fast-charging law - SchnellLG) in mid-2021, the legal basic charging for the equipment of managed rest facilities and the tendering of the Germany network was laid down. The aim of the SchnellLG is to provide a nationwide, attractive and reliable fast-charging infrastructure for users, including on federal motorways. On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV), Autobahn GmbH is to equip around 350 managed and unmanaged rest facilities throughout Germany for the operation of truck fast-charging infrastructure.
