Extension school system Eselriet, 214 assembly construction in wood
The school complex Eselriet is located on the southwestern edge of Effretikon at the transition to the landscape area with lateral forest flanks and agricultural areas. The building ensemble from 1974 characterizes a uniform, time-typical design. Overhanging to the south, it inscribes itself in the natural context with a precise outline line. Functionally differentiated building wings are grouped around the central rest area to form an overall shape. The construction project intends to expand the school complex with a compact new building directly attached to the gymnasium. Existing buildings and new buildings are combined to form a coherent system. From the Sportplatzstrasse a wide and clear access situation arises. The new building combines the extensive space program with the rooms for school operations, day care and sports clubs under one roof. The access and vertical access system enables a merger as well as the independent operation of the individual user groups. Two building entrances open the construction and unbundle the different uses. A main staircase with lift opens up all floors and connects all building areas. The second and third floors form a uniform floor plan design. On the second floor, the four classrooms with intervening group rooms form a teaching cluster around a central lounge and cloakroom zone. On the third floor, therapy and speech therapy as well as the rooms of the promotion center are set up. In the basement there is the multipurpose room with a direct connection to the gym. Stairs and elevator connect this room with the kitchen and common areas on the ground floor.
