Founded in 1999, Trianel GmbH ("Trianel") is a joint venture of independent municipal utilities based in Aachen. As a Europe-wide municipal utility cooperation, Trianel taps the potential of liberalized energy markets by bundling complementary interests in the municipal environment with the aim of strengthening municipal utilities in their competitiveness and thus their independence.
