Description

The property of the elementary school Gerberstrase is located in the Gerberstrase 18, 42653 Solingen-Gräfrath on the eastern edge of the historic center. One building is being renovated, another is being expanded and a third is being rebuilt. As part of the planning, it was found that the installation of a central ventilation unit in buildings 1 and 8 is not possible for static reasons. As an alternative, decentralised ventilation units for floor or ceiling installation were proposed, but were discarded in the course of the design planning. Therefore, it was decided that only interior rooms without windows should receive mechanical ventilation. The kitchen and adjoining rooms on the ground floor of Building 7 receive a central ventilation unit on the roof of the first floor. The operating time of the kitchen is between 11 am and 4 pm. The cafeteria is ventilated over the window surface in accordance with the workplace guidelines (ASR). For this purpose, a window on the north side is rebuilt so that it can be opened completely. The existing premises in buildings 6 and 7 were not further taken into account.
