In connection with the implementation of Article 15 of the Tobacco Products Directive (2014/40/EU) and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/574 of 15.12.2017 on technical standards for the establishment and operation of a traceability system for tobacco products, the Danish Safety Technology Authority shall designate an ID issuer responsible for generating and issuing unique identifiers and identification codes for the tracing of tobacco products. The unique identifiers and identification codes shall be used in a common European traceability system aimed at preventing and reducing the illegal trade in tobacco products.
