CAFS Installations and Cutting Extinguishers
FMI has acquired 12 Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) plants and 12 cutter extinguishers for training conscripts in the Danish Emergency Management Agency (BRS). The equipment was acquired by the Austrian company Rosenbauer. The purchase price is set at DKK 7 million. It is a new legal requirement that the conscripts must undergo training with this material, although at present it is not available. The legal requirement enters into force on 1 January 2026, and the delivery time on the equipment is calculated to 3-3.5 months. The equipment must therefore be acquired at very short notice and it has been necessary to dispense with the usual tendering procedures. BRS has been transferred to another ministry's area of responsibility, but is still part of Denmark's total defence. Therefore, purchases for BRS can still be made by FMI.
