Description

The procurement services of the City of Turku's corporate administration requested furniture for the period 1.4.2025-31.3.2028, after which the contract may be extended on the original terms by two (2) one (1)-year options for the period 1.4.2028-31.3.2029 and 1.4.2029-31.3.2030. (Turun Ammattikorkeakoulu Oy makes option decisions independently.) The object of the procurement was loose furniture for the use of various service packages of the City of Turku, both for the municipalities and companies mentioned in this invitation to tender and in the appendices. The procurement was divided into four (4) sub-areas: 1) Furniture for learning spaces (value EUR 9 million) 2) Furniture for early childhood education and care (value EUR 1.5 million) 3) Furniture for working environments and public spaces (value EUR 1.5 million) 4) Recycled furniture Turku University of Applied Sciences Ltd is not involved in furniture for early childhood education and care, and Turku Conservatory Ltd is not involved in furniture for early childhood education and care, and furniture for working environments and public spaces. Two (2) suppliers per sub-area were selected for sub-areas 1 to 3 and are used in order of preference for justified reasons. Component 4 consists of selecting suppliers that meet all the suitability requirements and criteria. More information on the use of suppliers can be found in the draft contract. The client furnishes the building with the furniture of the contractor whose contract relates to the main purpose of the building. (e.g. the kindergarten will be furnished with early childhood education furniture, even if it includes offices) The client reserves the right to tender out purchases of first-time furniture whose estimated value, exclusive of VAT, exceeds 100,000,00 €. As a rule, however, this agreement is used. Occasional purchases may also be made to a limited extent from other Suppliers due to, for example, availability factors or in connection with project and development projects.
