Description

The DAAD promotes participation in German and specialist language courses for students and graduates from abroad as part of the university summer and university winter language courses in Germany. This funding serves both the acquisition of language skills and the establishment of a link to Germany as a university location. The courses take place in presence in Germany. The minimum language level of the applicants is A2 according to CEFR. Several framework contracts for four-week German and specialist language courses are advertised for about 1,000 DAAD scholarship holders per year, including accommodation as well as cultural and cultural supporting programmes. The language courses are to be implemented at level B1, B2 and C1 as well as specialist language courses at level C1. The demand arises in winter in the months of January and February and in summer in the months of June, July, August and September. Students and graduates should deepen their knowledge of the German language; depending on the type of course, either in the field of general language or also in the field of technical language. In addition, regional knowledge is to be acquired and insights into Germany as a university location are to be given. Six regional lots (partial lots) will be put out to tender as framework agreements for the following regions: 1. Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony as well as Hamburg and Bremen 2. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Brandenburg and Berlin 3. Saxony-Anhalt and Saxony and Thuringia 4. North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland 5. Hesse and Baden-Württemberg 6. Bavaria In each lot up to three surcharges are intended. When distributing these six regional lots with three surcharges each, we assume a mathematical quota of about 60 places per calendar year and a surcharge for the distribution of the expected number of scholarship holders (basic quota). In addition, there are additional places for additional training and in the event that a framework agreement is not awarded or terminated prematurely and redistribution is required. Additional places can be added annually due to possible additional financial resources from the DAAD donor (additional quota). The additional quota may include approximately 140 places. The provider may consider the above-mentioned options in its offer. The client does not specify a maximum number with regard to the offer. Tenderers must only offer and reserve a total of at least 60 places per lot per calendar year. The provider is free to decide how to distribute the quotas. The tenderer is not obliged to offer courses in both winter and summer, or courses in general and technical languages. However, a variety of courses (summer courses and winter courses at different language levels B1, B2, C1 as well as specialist language courses) is desired. It should be borne in mind that the summer courses have a higher number of places. Experience has shown that 50% of scholarships are distributed in August, 20% to 25% in January/February. If a bidder offers less than 60 seats, their bid will be excluded. Tenderers are (only) obliged to keep the number of places they actually offer for a lot for the duration of the contract (reserved quantity). If a tenderer offers about 60 places, he is obliged to reserve 60 places. For further details, please refer to the Tender Specifications, Annex 02.
