Nantes Métropole experimented with a free public WiFi service in public spaces and two public transport lines between 2016 and 2018. Based on the recommendations of the evaluation process, a first contract was established in 2018 for the construction and operation of a Wi-Fi network in different public spaces and public transport lines in the Metropolis on a permanent or temporary basis. This market allowed (between 2018 and 2024) the deployment and implementation on 42 sites (21 municipalities) and 3 public transport lines of 113 public Wi-Fi terminals.
