Description

Geotechnical exploration in the German EEZ of the North Sea including documentation as part of the preliminary investigation pursuant to Section 10(1)(2) WindSeeG. The geotechnical exploration includes continuous pressure probing, discontinuous pressure probing, borehole geophysical measurements, drilling for sampling including soil approach, and laboratory testing. The areas to be under-requested per year are determined by the area development plan (ADP). In the respective examination room it is necessary to start with the continuous pressure probes. The depth of the continuous pressure probing is to be carried out until the process limit is reached. Subsequently, the target depth (max. 80 m below sea level) of the exploration is achieved by the execution of discontinuous pressure probes. Before drilling can be started for sampling, all pressure sounding results must be collected. The explorations must be carried out logistically optimised in a coherent manner per FEP area. The client reserves the right to determine the order of the exploration work. The depth of the indirect and direct outcrops is max. 80 m below sea level. The depths to be explored at the individual locations of the pressure soundings are determined in advance by the separate commissioned geotechnical support. After the complete survey of the pressure sounding results, these are evaluated by the geotechnical monitoring, so that the number and depth of the holes can be determined for sampling. Non-cohesive soils are expected to be sampled only in sections and cohesive soils are expected to be sampled continuously. Sampling drilling takes place at selected pressure sounding locations. Based on the results of the drill core approach, the predetermined laboratory programme, which includes the classification and soil mechanical tests, is to be defined by geotechnical monitoring and carried out by the contractor of this call for tenders. Field investigations and documentation must be carried out in accordance with DIN EN ISO 19901-8:2024-01. The laboratory tests are to be carried out in accordance with current standards and the BSH standard for ground exploration for offshore wind farms. The results of the field investigations shall be summarised in an Investigation Report. The laboratory results shall be documented in a laboratory data report. For the year 2027, pressure soundings are to be carried out at 25 locations (13 locations up to 80 m and 12 locations up to 60 m) and drillings for sampling up to 80 m depth at 13 locations. For the year 2028, pressure soundings are to be carried out at 25 locations (13 locations up to 80 m and 12 locations up to 60 m) and drillings for sampling at 13 locations (3 locations up to 80 m and 10 locations up to 60 m). The reconnaissance locations for 2027 will be located on FEP area N-12.6 and the reconnaissance locations for 2028 will be located in the reconnaissance room N-16 East. Further calls for additional reconnaissance work in 2027 and 2028 are necessary according to the current state of planning. However, there is no obligation to call. The expected amounts of the exploration scope of further calls in further exploration years are based on the requirements of the WindSeeG and the area development plan and cannot currently be estimated. For more information on the description, see the specifications.
