Description

The RNG department of the Amsterdam UMC intends to purchase a new mammograph. After the merger, Amsterdam UMC faces major challenges. In recent years, there have been several shifts of care between location AMC and VUmc. The mammography is lateralized to location VUmc. This has caused the mammograph to move from location AMC to location VUmc, where there was already a mammograph. The working methods on these systems have been harmonised in recent years. This is made possible by the similar mammography systems of AMC and VUmc. Location VUmc currently has 2 mammographs of different ages and a belly position biopsy system, which can perform both stereotactic and tomosynthesis-controlled procedures (called puncture table). Because of the deteriorating quality and stability of 1 of the 2 mammographers, partly because of the age, the department intends to replace this mammograph. However, the puncture table (Hologic Affirm Prone Breast Biopsy System) and the other mammograph (Hologic Dimensions 3D) are not replaced. This means that the new mammograph must be able to function properly within the current harmonised mammography unit. Harmonization and the creation of peace within the unit is, in our merging hospital, of great importance. Therefore, it is also important that the new mammograph connects to the existing mammography infrastructure due to image display, user interface, workflow, accessories, QC and staff interchangeability. 1 Mammograph
