Description

In 2024, the city of Alzey was included in the federal programme "Renovation of municipal facilities in the fields of sport, youth and culture" (SJK) with the project "Replacement of the new swimming pool and the functional building of the outdoor swimming pool Alzey". The reason for the application was the dilapidated teaching pool at the Albert-Schweitzer-Grundschule in Donnersbergstraße 30 in Alzey, which has been closed for years and has serious tree defects. The funding measure includes the demolition and replacement of the functional building at the outdoor pool (Wartbergbad), including a new construction of the swimming pool hall with teaching pool. The new building replaces the current main building of the outdoor pool (Wartbergbad). Thus, the location of the building on the property is already predetermined. However, there is a great deal of room for manoeuvre in the orientation and arrangement of the floor plans, which is developed together with the planners.
