Description

As part of the dtec.bw project KIPro, HSU pursues the goal of combining existing assistance system technologies for assembly and logistics processes with methods of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). The HSU and HOMAG want to continue their cooperation in the dtec.bw project KIPro, which began in 2021, in 2025 and 2026. To this end, they intend to further develop the assistance system on the basis of the previous research results and to test and evaluate it in real operation. The background of the KIPro project is that although assistance-based assembly work has already been researched and developed, there is a lack of research results on assembly assistance systems that meet the requirements of context sensitivity of the systems via methods of artificial intelligence (AI). The previous use of AI does not go beyond the analysis of product quality, plant optimization or maintenance optimization. The KIPro project focuses on technological development through the integration of self-configuration, diagnosis and optimization of assistance systems in all pre- and final assembly areas. Based on the research results to date, the assistance platform is to be further developed and tested and evaluated in real operation. HOMAG is to provide the following services in the dtec.bw project KIPro - together with the HSU: Further development of concepts for the automated generation of instructions for different use cases: - further development of algorithms and the overall ergonomic concept; - extension of the platform sensors for recording the movement data; - In addition, the aim is to expand the presentation of information through innovative technologies. Testing and evaluation of concepts: - Testing the functionality of the assistance system platform under laboratory and real-world conditions HOMAG and the HSU are conducting joint research, whereby the HSU is responsible for project coordination.
