1. The Competition is a two-stage, limited and implementation competition, i.e. in which the Prizes are Cash Prizes and an invitation to the Competition Participant of the selected Competition Work to negotiate in a direct order mode, in order to perform the subject of the contract on the basis of the Competition Work.
2. The object of the competition is to create an architectural concept for the conversion of the former ‘CRACOVIA’ hotel into a cultural institution: Museum of Architecture and Design and the Model Centre for Supporting Creative Industries along with land development, in accordance with the description of the subject of the competition in Appendix No. M01 to the Regulations. The area of elaboration has been marked in Annex No. M03b to the Regulations.
3. The aim of the competition is to obtain the best architectural, spatial and functional-utility concept for the reconstruction of the former ‘CRACOVIA’ hotel into a cultural institution: Museum of Architecture and Design and Model Centre for Supporting Creative Industries together with land development. A detailed description of the subject of the competition can be found in Annex M01 to the Regulations, the area of competition preparation is indicated in Annex M03b to the Regulations.
4. In accordance with the Competition Rules, the order will be executed in accordance with the following procedure:
The competition is conducted in a limited and two-stage competition procedure.
a) Qualification phase:
Entities interested in participating in the Competition shall submit Applications for admission to participate in the Competition in accordance with the provisions of Chapter III of the Regulations within the time limit specified in the Competition Schedule; – The Organiser admits to participate in the Competition and invites to submit Study Papers of the Competition Participants meeting the objective requirements specified by the Organiser in Chapter III of the Regulations.
b) Stage I - Studies:
– Submission of Study Papers by Competition Participants invited to submit Study Papers on the basis of applications for admission within the deadline specified in the Competition Schedule. The material scope, form of the study and the method of presentation of the Study Papers are specified in Chapter IV of the Regulations;
– Assessment of anonymised Study Papers by the Competition Court on the basis of the criteria set out in Chapter V of the Rules and selection of the five best Study Papers corresponding to the requirements set out in the Rules, which will be qualified for Stage II
It's a contest. – Invitation to submit the Competition Works of the Competition Participants whose studies have been qualified for Stage II of the Competition.
c) Stage II – Competition entries:
– Submission of Competition Works by Competition Participants whose Studies have been qualified for Stage II of the Competition within the deadline specified in the Competition Schedule. Material scope, form of elaboration and method of presentation of Competition Works
are set out in Chapter VI of the Rules of Procedure;
– Assessment of the anonymised Competition Works by the Competition Court on the basis of the criteria set out in Chapter VII of the Rules and the selection of the best Competition Work (I Prize) and awarding the remaining Prizes in accordance with the provisions of Chapter VIII of the Rules;
– Approval by the Head of the Contracting Authority of the outcome of the competition and official announcement of the results
the Contest;
– The results of the Competition shall become final.
