United Kingdom-Birmingham: Construction work for buildings relating to education and research
Molecular sciences phase 1 is the first phase of a multi-phase building to form a new hub for the University’s Molecular Science research and will be located on the old Munrow Sports Centre, bounded by the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, Ring Road South and University Road West. Phase 1 is being designed to house researchers from School of Chemistry, some researchers from pharmacy and a small cohort of environmental scientists from the school of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (GEES), along with providing inter-disciplinary post-graduate research student centre. This proposed development supports the Birmingham 2026 agenda in size and shape. The aim of the new building is to provide a focal point to strengthen the University's core research capabilities in chemical, environmental and bio-molecular sciences, whilst providing improved facilities for academics and post-graduate students.
