Description

Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD), Department of General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery, intends to conclude a partnership agreement in the field of robotics for the acquisition of robotic-assisted surgical systems (RAS). First of all, the purchase of a RAS for use in minimally invasive colon rectal surgery, in particular for complex laparoscopic-robotic hybrid surgeries, including services, is envisaged. The procurement is embedded in the strategic development of the department into an integrated academic visceral surgical center with a focus on colorectal oncology. These include in particular: - Execution of total mesorectal excision (TME) in rectal carcinoma with deep pelvic dissection - Right- and left-sided hemiclectomy and sigma resection with intracorporeal anastomosis - Proctoclectomies with possible restoration (ileoanal pouch system) - Multiquadrant interventions initiated intraoperatively laparoscopically and continued robot-assisted or vice versa (hybrid approach) - Complex interventions in patients with elevated BMI, preoperative procedures and anatomical features
