The town of Bergkamen intends to transfer the site of the former mine house Aden 1/2, which is referred to as the "water city Aden", to a subsequent use. The site, which covers a total area of approximately 54 hectares, will in future be used as a commercial, service and residential location and will be connected to the Datteln-Hamm Canal (DHK) via a water surface (Adensee) with an upstream canal.
