Description

De Universiteit Leiden is een instelling voor wetenschappelijk onderwijs en onderzoek. De vraag naar vloeibaar helium voor het wetenschappelijk onderzoek is voor een belangrijk deel dynamisch te noemen. In de huidige situatie beschikt de Universiteit Leiden over een productie unit voor vloeibaar helium.
Wanneer de afname groter is dan het aanbod wordt vloeibaar helium ingekocht bij externe firma's. Om verliezen te compenseren worden helium 4.6 gaspakketten ingekocht bij externe firma's. Dit gas wordt weer vloeibaar gemaakt.
Momenteel plaatst de daartoe gemachtigde besteller (verantwoordelijke van de cryogene afdeling) bestellingen bij de leverancier.
Daarnaast plaatsen daartoe gemachtigde bestellers (dit kunnen ook de eindgebruikers zijn) via GHX zelf hun (digitale) bestelling voor cilindergassen helium bij de leverancier.
