The project aims to advance the digitization of existing bridges through standardized and scalable Scan2BIM processes. With the help of AI, visible and hidden components are to be automatically detected, modelled and enriched with semantic information in IFC format. In addition, the integration of plan information via AI-based text recognition is developed. All procedures are based on open source technologies and validated using real and synthetic data sets. Guides for laser scanning, data management and interoperability with systems such as SIB-Bauwerke 2.0 complement the goal of creating a practical, efficient and future-proof basis for digital twins and predictive life cycle management.
