United Kingdom-London: Event services
Event services. The Department for Culture, Media and Sport would like to commission a suitably experienced event management company to deliver the First World War centenary commemorative event in St Symphorien cemetery in August 2014.
The event, which will be filmed live by the BBC, will take place in a rural location with challenging access and with a setup that will be more time consuming than a classic event venue. The requirement will be to organise and manage this event in collaboration with a number of key stakeholders. Some of the services that may/will need to be provided are:
— project management,
— sourcing/purchasing of agreed materials,
— sourcing/engagement/management/liaison of agreed international artists and event participants,
— security fencing to event space,
— supervision of park and ride facility (buses being provided by local council),
— barrier fencing secure entry/exits,
— supervision of attendees arriving/departing (not VIPs),
— security lighting,
— ground level lighting in the cemetery,
— possible contribution to event lighting (liaison with BBC),
— sound system,
— power generator,
— large screens in meadow,
— public liability insurances (minimum 10 million GBP),
— site security system/personnel,
— stewards,
— toilet facilities,
— possibly a speaking platform/lecturn,
— communications system for key personnel.
Due to the nature of the event it will be a requirement that any potential events company will need to be multi-lingual English/French/German/Flemish.
