Provision of Secure Berthing for GSI Inshore Survey Vessels
Secure berthing is required for all GSI inshore survey vessels, with access to shore power, water, toilet, fuel and shower facilities. Ideally all vessels can be berthed together in one area for ease of access and equipment mobilisation, with wheelbarrows available for transferring equipment and supplies from the car parking area. The berthing facility must be located within 15km of the GSI’s offices at Booterstown Hall, Booterstown, Co. Dublin. Proximity to vessel haulage facilities is also desirable. The vessels typically operate in other locations around the coast of Ireland from April through to October, however outside of these times the berths must always be made available and kept free – however when the berths are made vacant at other times, their use for other vessels can be agreed with the tenderer on a case by case basis.
