Description

The Schön Klinik Neustadt (SKN) is an academic teaching hospital of the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (Schön Klinik Neustadt SE & Co. KG, Am Kiebitzberg 10, 23730 Neustadt) and with currently 366 acute hospital beds designated in the hospital supply plan of the state of Schleswig-Holstein. In addition to the acute inpatient beds, 160 beds provide rehabilitative care for patients in the follow-up treatment. The central emergency care (ZNA) of the SKN is the largest unit of its kind in Ostholstein with about 22,000 contacts per year. In the respective inpatient departments, almost all patients are provided with acute inpatient events at the highest quality level. This includes in particular the accident surgical treatment (regional trauma center), the care of cardiological patients with 2 cardiac catheter laboratories as well as the stroke care with supraregional stroke unit (9 beds) and interventional interventions (thrombectomy) in an angio-laboratory as hybrid surgery. The intensive care unit of Schön Klinik Neustadt with 10 intensive care beds and 8 intermediate care beds (IMC beds) has been in operation for about 30 years, and thus since the start of operation of the clinic, in the 1. OG operated in direct proximity to the operating theatre or recovery room of the operating theatre. Regular measures for the maintenance of the building areas have been carried out. Nevertheless, after 30 years, the construction concepts implemented at the time no longer meet the current requirements for the operation of a current intensive or IMC unit.
