Sweden-Stockholm: Unmanned aerial vehicles
The Police Authority is currently carrying out a project with the Coast Guard to integrate unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) into operational activities. The project has been preceded by a preparatory study. The needs analysis of the respective target group in the preparatory study showed that a vehicle, Air Vehicle (AV), of the rotor type (VTOL) is the most suitable to perform the tasks in question.
The Swedish Police Authority now intends to procure several systems. Each system shall include a (1) vehicle (AV) of the rotor type (VTOL) with a maximum mass of seven (7) kg. The craft (AV) shall wear EO and IR sensors simultaneously and deliver images in real time. It shall be possible to change the image between the EO sensor and the IR sensor while the craft (AV) is in the air. The craft (AV) shall have a flight time of at least forty (40) minutes. Some services are also included in the procurement procedure.
