Description

deSingel is the well-known arts centre in Antwerp where the 4 disciplines theatre, dance, music and architecture live together. Partly thanks to the large-scale infrastructure of the site, this large art institution of the Flemish Government is a unique meeting place for the international and Flemish arts world. The deSingel building comprises a series of technical installations that need to be replaced because of end-of-life or in order to improve energy, comfort and safety requirements. The assignment concerns a study assignment of specific technical installations in demarcated areas and spaces in the building. These include ventilation/climatisation, elevators, emergency lighting, fire safety installation and electricity signs. In addition to the study of the technical installations, there is also a limited study assignment architecture specifically related to the structural fire compartmentation at the basement level and to elevator shafts. The study includes all technical adaptations and all adaptations for their architectural integration (incl. architecture, stability, acoustics). The interventions must be integrated into the existing architecture in an appropriate and careful manner.
