Netherlands-Petten: Electricity, heating, solar and nuclear energy
ECN Wind Energy Facilities B.V. (EWEF) is a 100 % ECN group company founded with the objective of facilitating research in wind energy. EWEF intends to enable its national and international partners to conduct independent research and tests on commercially available wind turbine generators (WTG). Also, the objective is to facilitate wind turbine manufacturers to test, optimize and certify their prototypes and to produce green energy. EWEF is located approximately 40 km north of Amsterdam, west of the Ijsselmeer. The present layout is given in the figure below.
EWEF is developing a new Wind Turbine Test site Wieringermeer II (EWTW II).
EWEF's aim with the EWTW II project is to combine two objectives in one project.
